Acupuncture for neck pain in Scottsdale
Your head weighs about as much as a bowling ball, and your neck holds it up all day. Screens, driving and golf ask the small neck muscles to do overtime.
90-min Spine Assessment · cervical support and roller to keep · 1:1 with Dr. Phil
What's going on
Small muscles, heavy load
The neck has seven vertebrae and a lot of muscle in a small space. The upper trapezius and levator scapulae lift and steady the shoulder blade. The suboccipitals, tiny muscles under the skull, fine-tune where your eyes point.
When the head drifts forward, these muscles hold a load they weren't built for. They tighten, refer pain to the shoulders and head, and can make turning to check a blind spot feel like work.
